Step 1 Lead-in
Create some situations and show some sentences.( Emphasize the agreement)
I am a teacher. You are students.
He is very handsome.
12years is a long time.
Not only you but also I like Zhengji Middle School.
Politics is very difficult to learn .
To teach you is my pleasure.
There is a computer , many books on the table.
The police are very brave.
Water and air are important to us.
60% of the students are girls.
The young are full of energy and hope.
Step 2. Group discussion
Divide the class into three groups. Each group chooses one and sum up the rules of agreement.
Step 3.Learn and practice
Ss present their discussion results.
Practise the points according to situations.(注意形式的多樣)
謂語動詞用單數(shù)的情況:
1.表示重量、距離、金錢、一段時間的名詞作主語表示一個整體概念時,謂語動詞用單數(shù)形式
2.一些以s結(jié)尾的單數(shù)名詞,如:news, physics, mathematics, politics, 謂語用單數(shù)形式。The news is important.
表示國家、機構(gòu)、作品等專有名詞作主語時,也被看作一個整體。
3.動名詞及其短語、不定式、從句作主語時,謂語動詞用單數(shù)。
謂語動詞用復(fù)數(shù)的情況:
1.下列名詞總是復(fù)數(shù),無單數(shù)形式,作主語,謂語用復(fù)數(shù)形式,
如:police, cattle, people, clothes, shorts, trousers, goods, scissors等。
2.并列結(jié)構(gòu)作主語,謂語用復(fù)數(shù)
3.the + adj./ 分詞(blind, deaf, poor, young, dead, wounded, living),表示一類人時。
I think the poor are not always poor and the rich are not always happy.
The sick have been cured and the lost have been found.
Other forms:
1.就遠原則
當(dāng)主語后面跟有as well as, along with, with ,like, rather than, together with , but ,except, besides, ,including等引導(dǎo)的詞組時,其謂語動詞的單、復(fù)數(shù)由主語的單、復(fù)數(shù)而定。
2.就近原則
1)由or, either...or,neither...nor...,
not only...but also...,not...but...,
連接兩個主語,謂語動詞通常和鄰近的主語一致。
2) 由there或here引起的句子,主語又不止一個,
謂語通常與鄰近的主語一致。
